The Directorate of secondary education in the state of Maharashtra is planning on the admission of various eligible diploma students to various engineering colleges. This will have the advantage that the admission will be directly in the second year and students as they have an advantage of completing those courses during their diploma.
Basic Eligibility for take part in the Admission
- Diploma / B.Sc degree in streams as per DTE.
- He / she must belongs to Maharashtra.
How to Apply?
For the purpose of Maharashtra direct second year engineering admission 2016-17 students are first required to get the application kit from different centers as decided by the board which are mentioned in DTE website (There are 183 ARC at various regions , address details can be known from below link) and along with that they are also supposed to get the information brochure.
This kit will contain the user id and password. The filled form with necessary details is to be submitted timely for direct 2nd year admission 2016. The receipt that is given to the student along with the application kit is to be carefully preserved as it will be required at a later stage and if not available with the students, it will be highly problematic.
The lateral entry merit list will be released according to which the admission will be done and any actions declaring any discrepancy in the merit list shall not be entertained at any costs. The declaration of the results will include the student being given the allotment letter to their respective institutes. This will be available online and students should take a hard copy of the same and present it during the time of admission.
Tentative dates of admission
- Application sale / online registration for Engineering / technology admission starts from – july first week
- Diploma students Merit list declaration – july last week
- Allotment of CAP round 1, 2, 3 – August month.
Students who are placed with the seat allotted in round I will be provided an additional option for appearing in round 2 as well as round 3.This will include depositing some extra charge. The results for this will also soon be released. The id number and password will be required to access the result. These should thus be carefully preserved.

If a seat is allotted to a student then he/she is supposed to bring the original documents at the time of the admission for verification purposes and failure in doing so might result in cancellation of the allotted seat.
