Bio metric based ration cards in the smart card formats printing works will about to begin from November month, In order to digitalize the ration card and to eliminate the duplicate cards smart cards will be issued.
For this process is going on now to link aadhar number with ration card, each ration shops are given with scanner instruments for getting aadhar card details.
This process will be continued for 2 more months hence people’s don’t need to wait in long queue with ration card for the registering process.
Department of Food and Public Distribution officials said that In 13 districts the process has completed nearly 80% and in some south districts the work is in finishing stage.
What are the details registered?
While linking the ration card with aadhar card in tamilnadu 2016 2017 details such as ration card code, card number, home address, details about the family members, contact numbers, number of cylinders they are having are registered by the ration shop distributors, with the help of scanner aadhar card details will also be added.
When smart card will be issued in tamilnadu?
From the November 1 process of printing the smart cards will be started within the December month it will be completed, hence from 2017 january month onwards smart cards will be issued to the public after getting the old ration cards.
If you purchase with this smart card receipt will not be issued, after inserting card into the machine things to be distributed for that card will be shown. Things stock details in the shop will also be messaged to the mobile number they have given while registering. After purchasing things in ration shop the details will be forwarded as sms.
